We are pleased to share that the Director of the Native Foodscape Foundation, Dr Chubbamenla Jamir had the honour of delivering the Inaugural lecture on 'Food Systems' at a specialized workshop hosted by the Gautam Buddha University (GBU), Noidaon December 19, 2025.
The event, titled "Getting Started with Rheology: Applications for Food, Pharmaceuticals and Nanoformulations," was organized by the Department of Food Processing and Technology (FPT) at the University School of Vocational Studies and Applied Sciences.
It was particularly inspiring to see the organizers contextualize a highly technical subject like rheology within the larger framework of global food systems. These crucial intersections—where deep scientific specialization meets broad ecological and social context—are where true innovation and meaningful learning flourish.
The lecture provided an excellent opportunity to engage with university professors and students, sparking conversations around the need for a holistic approach to food education. While technical deep-dives into food technology are essential, their real-world value is magnified when connected to global policy, environmental sustainability, and tangible community impact. The message resonated clearly: we must continue digging deeper, both into the intricacies of the science and into the wider contexts that determine how food technologies ultimately shape our societies and ecosystems.
It was a humbling experience to share the dais with Professor Emeritus S.M. Hadi (AMU), whose deeply insightful talk on food technology added immense value to the proceedings.
The Native Foodscape Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to the organizers for fostering such a dynamic environment, including Prof. Chander Kumar Singh, Dean of SoVSAS, and Dr. M. Tashfeen Ashraf, Head of the Department of Food Processing & Technology. We also thank all the participating faculty and students for their thoughtful discussions and the vibrant energy they brought to the room.
